John at America blog reminded me of this video. Matt from The video was viewed 4.4 million times. What I like about Matt's video is the chose people and animals in the most beautiful spots in the world to celebrate the world.
Matt is a 30-year-old deadbeat from Connecticut who used to think that all he ever wanted to do in life was make and play videogames. He achieved this goal pretty early and enjoyed it for a while, but eventually realized there might be other stuff he was missing out on. In February of 2003, he quit his job in Brisbane, Australia and used the money he'd saved to wander around the planet until it ran out.

Hi Tworet! I actually wanted to comment on the post about Pali kids killed by neck/head shots, but couldn't find the place to click.
When I am visiting family and friends in America, who begin to try and defend Israel's 'defense', this is the subject I always bring up. We've visited kids in Jordanian hospitals who are paralyzed from sharpshooters. There is no excuse for it.

Twosret, there was march of children in Gaza on Thursday. Little children, some injured, carrying signs imploring Hamas and Fatah to stop their violence against children. (Picture and story were in my local newspaper, The Austin-American Statesman, here in Austin, Texas). It made me think of how terrible the violence is against children, as you note in your touching post below. And, I started thinking: I wonder if we could start a group of mothers to try to promote peace in the ME?
On another note, and I wanted to write you personally but did not have your email address). I invited you to check out Good Neighbors because the commentors and posters were so positive and respectful. .. and well, the posters are truly excellent in every respect, a diverse group of posters from the Middle East and all are committed to peace and friendship. BUT, the comment directed to you by G was so beyond inappropriate. In fact, I have been thinking and thinking about it since then, and now feel that it is the absolutely most terrible comment that I have ever,ever seen on any blog. (and you and I comment on SM's site and it can get bad over there at times). You handled the commment with grace and compassion---I don't know how you did it. I was furious. Yaeli posted after that incident about the negativity of posting items that incite hatred and everyone who commented agreed. Lynne

I'm honored for your invitation to visit the Good neighbors blog. I have been on blogger for almost three years. I have seen so much abuse to Arabs. I myself became so angry that at some of my posts had to let the steam off.

I think your judgement about Matt is a little harsh. Having worked with the guy he's no 'deadbeat' as you describe and while you are free to disagree with his view on the world perhaps when you have circumnavigated it then you can back your statements.
